What you speak determines your future!
On the tongue lie both death and life: whoever prefers either, will reap its fruit (Proverbs 18:21 HTB). Our words bring forth death or life. When you speak words of life over yourself, you will reap fruits of life.
Words are like seeds. You put seeds in the ground. You wait, you wait, the seed germinates and you wait some more. Slowly but surely what grows becomes visible. Slowly but surely what you sowed before becomes clear. More and more recognizable and larger becomes that which you planted. Grain begets grain, and not thistles. This is a natural principle that always applies: What you sow, you will reap.
It works the same way with the words we speak. On our tongue lie both death and life. When we speak death, we will reap fruits of death. When we speak life, we will reap fruits of life. In other words: What you speak determines your future. Not only your future but another's as well. What a wonderful promise is contained in this principle.
When you speak words of life, you will reap life.
When you speak words of life about yourself, you build your identity.
When you speak words of life over others, you give hope, comfort, joy and faith.
Let us be perceptive of our words. Not a critical remark but a compliment. Not a condemnation but an encouragement. Positive words are like medicine. The Word of God is like medicine for body and soul.
In handing out the cards with the text: YOU ARE VALUABLE we see what words of life does to someone. People become happy, get a big smile and sometimes a tear appears. "How beautiful", "how sweet", "I never hear that" are reactions we often hear.
